Tip of the Day: Putting FUN into FORMALITY

GET YOUR 'FUNORMAL' ON!

So it's time for those formal family and friend shots at your wedding.  The ones that although you said you weren't going to have them, it turns out that on the day most couples do end up having at least some of them.   If not for themselves, it is quite often something that other members of the family expect and want, and if I'm really honest about it, most couples end up wanting them as well as they are actually a nice way to document how everyone looked at the time of your wedding. Formals can be very cool as long as your photographer approaches it the right way.

The trick with the 'formal shots' is to take away some of the 'formality' traditionally attached to them.  Make it a personal affair where your guests are called up by name, maybe by a friendly face in the wedding party.  It's simple little touches like this which make your day run so much smoother and reduces friction for everyone.

If it all goes to plan with the formal shots then in reality this can conversely provide some of the most spontaneous and entertaining photographs of your whole day.

Take a look at some of my favorite Informal Formals below.  They really can be a lot of fun! I like to call it FUNORMAL!
