Tip of the week : Dispose of your disposables and save a fortune by using Instagram and Facebook
Wouldn't it be wonderful if your wedding day memories
could be captured by your guests from there point of view in an informal,
personal and fun way. Just imagine if
you could instantly collect together all the images to make one big collection.
An album made just for you by the most important people you know, on the most
important day of your life. This fun album would compliment the beautiful
professional photography you have arranged to cover the big moments perfectly.
"Well that's easy" I hear you say. "We just buy disposable cameras and put
them on every table, Right?".......... Wrong!!!
As a professional photographer I see a lot of money spent
on disposable cameras at weddings. I
also see that money going to waste.
Disposable cameras are expensive to buy and even more expensive to
process.
Regularly I see these pricey extras treated not as a
quirky retro feature at your wedding, but as a toy for restless children
meaning that you will end up with a bunch of very expensive, out of focus
pictures of table legs, backs of heads and teddy bears. That's if you even
manage to collect all the cameras at the end of the party. They end up going
home in handbags, kicked about on the floor and at worst in the trash.

Don't use disposable cameras - They aint cheap!
So what's the alternative you say? Smartphones, iPhones,
Instagram & Facebook!
The beauty of this way being it's free, it's creative and
it's instant. You have full control of
it, and best of all your guests provide the cameras and do the processing for
you absolutely free!

Use Facebook and Instagram for your fun photos
How to Facebook and Instagram your wedding:
1.) On your wedding invites ask your friends to set up an
Instagram account. (Don't worry if they don't, you can still Instagram or edit
with other apps the pics after they get on to your Facebook if you want).
2.) Set up a Facebook account or page specifically for
your wedding. Make sure you put the name
of this Facebook account on your invites and wedding stationery/itinerary or
table plans. Invite your guests to like this page or friend it way before the
big day so they can tag your photographs more easily. Update it occasionally to
keep it in your friends minds and let them know how your plans are developing.
3.) Ask your guests (actually insist! It's your wedding
day after all!) to use their phones, Instagram and/or Facebook accounts to
upload the photographs as they take them throughout the day. Most importantly, your
guests need to tag the images with the name of your Facebook wedding page or
account. Tagging the images means they all end up exactly where you need them
in one safe, secure and downloadable location for you to do with whatever you
choose.
So there you have it.
In a very simple way you have saved yourself a lot of time and money to
end up with a very impressive and creative collection of extra wedding day
memories.
